In 2017 Laura Kießkalt completed her bachelor degree with distinction for recorder as a performer as well as instrumental education with Prof. Dorothee Oberlinger at the Mozarteum Salzburg. She is currently pursuing her Master Degree recorder as a performer and since winter semester 2015 also instrumental education singing with Regina Prasser MA.


Besides wining the international recorder competition “Nordhorn 2013”, Laura is furthermore multiple prize winner of the German national competition “Jugend musiziert”. In addition to numerous concerts throughout Europe, she performed at the international festival “Musiquem Lleida“ in Spain, where her ensemble received the audience award. From 2013 to 2015 she was a scholar of the “Gerd Bucerius Stipendium” by the German Foundation Musikleben, while also being multiple times holder of the performance scholarship of the Universität Mozarteum. Since 2014 she is a fellow of the Hildegard Schmalzl Foundation of the city of Regensburg. The participation in masterclasses resulted in collaborations with well-known musicians such as amongst others Maurice Steger, Walter van Hauwe, Hugo Reyne, Antonio Politano, Ashley Solomon and Jeremias Schwarzer.

Her concert excerpts have on several occasions been played at the radio stations BR Klassik and mdr.


Laura performed as mezzo soprano in concerts in Germany and Austria, while most notably she sang with the choir Musicacosí, conducted by Josef Wallnig at the festival "Anima Mundi" (Lead by Sir Elliot Gardiner) in the Pisa Cathedral with Mozart’s c-minor mass and in the opera production "La clemenza di Tito" at the Theatro Communale Florenz as well as the historical Teatro Romano Fiesole.
